HIV/AIDS OBJECTIVES
 |
To
consolidate knowledge on HIV/AIDS prevention and control
We sensitize the society about the dangers of HIV/AIDS by giving
them tools of how to prevent or keep themselves from catching the
disease. Many people have been given wrong tools of how to prevent and
control themselves e.g. by having sex with one partner or using
condoms. in this case we teach them the epidemics of the killer
disease. however we ensure them than SAFE SEX is NO SEX BEFORE
MARRIAGE. We also tell the married that GODLY LIVING AND FAITHFULNESS
TO YOUR SPOUSE is key. We teach about behavior change and abstinence
from sex till marriage. this is the only 100 percent way of preventing
and controlling HIV/AIDS.
1Thessalonians 4:3 "That you should abstain from sexual
immorality." God says it and that settles it! |
 |
To promote
healthy lifestyles in view of HIV/AIDS prevention and control.
Today there are lifestyles that seem good to this generation but
lead to destruction. As science and technology advance, we learn more
about the complex interaction among the mental, emotional, spiritual
and physical aspects of life. Mental and emotional as well as physical
health are major concerns in our stressful world. Destructive
lifestyles like watching and reading pornography lead to the pollution
of the mind which later ushers an individual to unhealthy lifestyles
and actions of homosexuality, lesbianism, fornication that leads to
HIV/AIDS. Therefore to promote healthy lifestyles in view of HIV/AIDS. |
 |
To promote
home based care services to people affected with AIDS.
A home is the primary place where children and parents learn Gods
wisdom and how to apply it to their lives, where loving relationships
are built on mutual communication and understanding. These people need
a family, a home where they are accepted. They need security, self
worth and significance. Like any other normal home, these people need
clothing, food and shelter, a place of belonging and an environment in
which they might flourish emotionally and spiritually in a healthy and
positive way. We should care for them in
a way that they feel fully at ease, nurtured and safe. |
 |
To
train AIDS orphans, widows and people with disabilities on life skills
to become self-reliant.
Physical and mental disability are forever a part of this fallen world.
Most families have been affected by disabilities in one way or
another. Like AIDS orphans and widows, people with disabilities feel
left out and ignored. We have a heart to train them in handiwork or
something that flowed naturally from a persons talents and abilities
in response to opportunities that arose. Human beings have a potential
for creativity, they are capable of creating out of nothing. Through
training, this expression of creativity, which transforms simple
materials into works of Art, is a way to share their lives wit others
and also become self reliant. It becomes a generating income for them
and also a monument to generations to come.
